FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chisasibi, Qc – February 20, 2024 – Members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Chisasibi detachment received information of possible drugs inside a Kinder Surprise toy package on the evening of Monday February 19th, 2024.
EEPF officers along with the Sûreté Du Québec proceeded with their investigation and met with the local store where the package was purchased. They confirmed that they did sell this Kinder Surprise and that two were sold. The store has since removed them from their shelves.
Within the chocolate candy and toys, there were small white pills that tested positive for narcotics.
We are asking the population to please verify the packaging of recent purchases of this product and to contact their local detachment if finding anything suspicious.
With Easter coming up next month, the Eeyou Eenou Police Force would like to remind parents to please be vigilant and verify the contents inside chocolate and candy packaging before giving to children.
