FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chisasibi, Qc– March 22, 2024 – On March 22nd 2024, members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Chisasibi detachment executed one (1) search warrant on a vehicle, having received information from the public concerning an individual that would be coming into the community for trafficking of illegal drugs. EEPF’s Chisasibi detachment commenced their investigation, applied and was granted one (1) search warrant.
Eeyou Eenou Police Force recovered in total amount:
- 96 grams of white powdery substance
- 481 pills of suspected Speed (Methamphetamine)
- 5 grams of suspected Crystal Meth.
- $1720.00 in Canadian Currency.
The estimated street value of drugs and Canadian currency seized is over $30,000.00.
Two (2) individuals, one (1) male and one (1) female were arrested. The male suspect was released with promise to appear in court. The other individual, Kelly Weizineau (38) appeared before the judge and will be transferred to the Amos Detention Center, facing charges for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Drugs under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
