FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mistissini, Qc – July 5, 2024– Members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Mistissini detachment, in collaboration with the Sûreté du Québec’s Chibougamau detachment, executed a search warrant on a vehicle that was situated on a road and location owned by the Cree Nation of Mistissini.
On July 4 2024, at 2:00 pm, while searching the vehicle in question, officers found and seized 8 units of 30 packs of alcohol, approximately 11 ounces of white substance suspected to be cocaine and illegal pistol ammunition. The street value of this seizure is estimated at $40,920.
Two individuals were arrested, 1 male (33) and 1 female (30).
During this operation, Chibougamau’s SQ detachment simultaneously executed a search warrant at the subject’s residence in Chibougamau. Additional white substance suspected to be cocaine and mushrooms were seized.
Both suspects were transferred to Chibougamau and are awaiting their phone appearance before the judge.
