FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Waskaganish, Qc – August 26, 2024– Members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Waskaganish detachment responded to a call on August 24th, 2024 requiring immediate assistance involving persons wounded due to a stabbing.
Upon arrival, the EEPF & Sûreté du Québec officers noticed a crowd surrounding the area and the persons involved. They took the victims to the Waskaganish clinic to get medical care. One victim had minor wounds and the other had more serious but non-life-threatening injuries. One of them was later released and the second might require further treatment in the south.
Upon investigation, the officers apprehended a 19-year-old male that is presently detained. This person will be facing criminal charges and will appear in front of a judge. More information to be provided at a later date.
