FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Waswanipi, Qc – September 12, 2024 – Members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Waswanipi detachment, along with members of the Sûreté du Québec, executed a search warrant on September 11, 2024 on a motor vehicle involved in drug trafficking.
Less than half an ounce of cocaine and speed pills (methamphetamine) were seized. A $70,000 motor vehicle was also seized as offence-related property of the investigation.
Two female individuals, Daisy HAPPYJACK-LANGDON and Christina BELANGER were arrested. Both are facing charges of Trafficking in Substance and two counts of Possession for Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act. The two suspects were transported to the Amos Detention Centre and scheduled for bail hearing on September 16, 2024.
