FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Whapmagoostui, Qc – November 18, 2024 – Members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Whapmagoostui detachment and investigation team have new developments regarding the incident that occurred on the morning of October 12, 2024, involving the break-in of a transit unit of the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay and assault with a weapon on the person in the unit.
After weeks of investigation, including the use of forensic techniques, witness interviews and surveillance footage review, a suspect identified as Mr Peter Dave Quarak has been arrested and is facing multiple charges including: failing to comply with order; robbery; breaking & entering a place and committing an indictable offence; mischief and destroying or damaging property.
