Waskaganish, Qc – February 22, 2025 – Members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Waskaganish detachment, along with members of the Sûreté du Québec, executed a search warrant on February 21st at a residence in the community of Waskaganish. The search warrant was authorized by a Justice of the Peace under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act of the Criminal Code of Canada.

During the search of the residence, the police seized 430 white pills marked “ICE,” alleged to be speed (methamphetamines). Additionally, 52.1 grams of a white powdery substance alleged to be cocaine was recovered. A quantity of four grams of a green leafy substance was also seized, believed to be marijuana. The operation also resulted in the confiscation of $8,385.00 in Canadian currency and various drug paraphernalia.

Two male individuals, one female, and one young female offender were arrested for possession of a controlled drug substance with the intent to traffic. After consulting with the Crown, the young offender was released and will receive a court summons. The two males and the other female were also released with an undertaking and a promise to appear in court on the date specified in their promise.
